This Question of What Do You See?

Have you ever wondered what constitutes our perception? What causes the mind to linger on thoughts that potentially have no meaning?

And, what is it that keeps us there, tethered to a single thought that has no basis in reality?

Oh, we all do it – I’m sure. Why, just yesterday I found myself playing out scenario in my head. I had convinced myself that something ‘must be’ – when I really had no grounds to believe it.

And that works both ways, my love. Our minds have the inexplicable capacity to construct our experience within any given moment.

“We are all in the gutter,” write Oscar Wilde. “but some of us are looking at the stars.”

It’s all in that single, nearly instantaneous decision – which prescribes which path we may follow.

And, I’ll just bet you didn’t realize it was your choice?

Everything is a choice, my darlings – what we see, what we experience – rests largely in our willingness to accept it.

This world is either a miserable place – or, full of magic just ‘waiting for our senses to grow sharper.’

The question is, my dearest loves – which do you choose on this day?
