What Gifts This Worry Might Bring.

John Muir once wrote that the highest reward for a man’s toil is not what he gets for it, rather – what he becomes by it.

I’m often reminded of his words as I experience my own upsets and challenges. I remind myself that even the greatest of woe is intended for a much a higher purpose.

Though, we often miss it when ‘captured’ by the moment. Though, could you imagine if we were ‘captivated’ instead?

Would the emotion carry as much weight? Would our worry seem so never-ending?

Or,

Would we instead gaze with wonder at what we might become as a result of it?

“The sun shines not on us but in us,” he writes. “The rivers flow not past, but through us. Thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance of our bodies, making them glide and sing.”

There’s a force in this Universe, my loves ~ which, when we allow it, will produce the most miraculous of results.

Just as the light breaking through the density of trees offers the gift of its loving-kindness. So, too, does the energy of this great and beautiful Universe.

Just a little reminder for this day, my darlings ~
