Letting Your Soul-Voice be Heard.

I was thinking about regret this morning. Specifically, what causes their heaviness to manifest?

For some, the heaviness is fleeting – a passing moment of introspection. Nothing more, nothing less. Gratitude is enough to fill the space that longing leaves behind.

While for others, something much deeper is triggered – intertwined with feelings of fear, doubt, and longing. Perhaps, for some, the heaviness represents a past memory – one so painful it forces a flinch.

But why are these memories painful for some and fleeting for others? What is it that marks the difference?

And why do memories already passed cause us to cling today?

In his book, The Art of Happiness, the Dalai Lama shares of his own regret; “It’s still there. But even though that feeling of regret is still there, it isn’t associated with a feeling of heaviness or a quality of pulling me back.”

It’s when we begin to recognize regret as a process – to understand its qualities as it manifests – that it begins to lessen its grip.

The trick is learning not to be swept away; to stay with the emotion long enough for it to share the gift of its lesson.

What is it trying to tell you, my loves?

From that vantage point, we find our way forward.

As author Shannon Alder once so eloquently shared, “When you give yourself permission to communicate what matters to you in every situation you will have peace despite rejection or disapproval. Putting a voice to your soul helps you to let go of the negative energy of fear and regret.”

My darlings, may today be the day your soul finds its voice. And with it, the capacity for an unconditional freedom.

Namaste ❤️
