What Can Be Done? Everything and Anything.

I’m reminded of a story this morning, one in which a young student asked of his teacher, “Master, what can I do alleviate the suffering in this world?”

To which the Master replied,

“Indeed; what *can* you do to help this world?”

There’s a heaviness which lends to the enormity of suffering. We see news clips each day evidencing unimaginable devastation. In our hearts, we feel helpless to affect change against something so ‘big’; at times, we seem hesitant to even try.

But, there’s always something to do, my loves. Even the smallest of gestures – a soft touch, a kind word – all can serve to extend humanity’s reach.

As Lama Zopa Rinpoche once shared:

“All the peace and happiness of the whole globe. All the peace and happiness of societies, the peace and happiness of family, the peace and happiness in the individual persons’ life, and the peace and happiness of even the animals and so forth, all depends on having loving kindness toward each other.”

Indeed, what can we do to alleviate the suffering of this world?

My loves, it begins with you. For, with every single act of kindness we further Compassion’s cause.

A little something to consider on this day.

What can you do? The answer is ‘everything and anything’, my loves.

Namaste ❤️
