The Other Half to Our Journey.

“For most of us,” shares Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche “thoughts seem very solid, very true. We become attached to them or afraid of them. Either way, we give them power over us. The more solid and true we believe them to be, the more power we give to them. But when we begin to observe our thoughts, the power begins to fade.”

Oh, my goodness – isn’t that the case, my loves? We feel such a heaviness, a palpable burden – leaving us desperate to overcome the physicality of this challenge.

We want the fear, the upset, the tears to stop – yet, what are we doing to examine their true source?

We are driven by an inherent need to be happy. We push ourselves to let go, to be free. But, my darlings – this only one half of our journey.

We must go deeper, my loves, in order to realize our true nature. To appreciate the depths and beauty of our soul, to allow a space for resilience, compassion and empathy to grow. Without which, we’d simply be ’empty shells’ – lacking in our capacity to heal.

Digging deeper, disentangling the roots of our suffering may elicit fear, I know. But, it is only through this painstaking process that we may finally, indeed, be ‘free’.

Just a little something to consider on this day, my loves – namaste and peace to all.
