In This Moment, We Grow.

“Be still and heal” was among the first of the teachings that I finally understood. I had struggled for years, reading through the passages – trying connect with the source of their beauty and fullness.

I wanted to experience these passages, to know them intimately and understand their substance. I wanted to include them as part of my own heart healing. I wanted to be ‘made whole’ by them.

Though, in our struggles the lesson is often stalled. Because, with a distracted mind we are unable to see clearly and connect with our own personal wounds.

In order to heal, we must express self-compassion.

Spiritual leader, Stephen Schwartz once wrote that compassion is a ‘felt understanding’. Meaning, we must explore deeply in order for these lessons to be revealed.

“Compassionate self-care,” he writes “Is a transmission of love from something that resides outside of merely human identity. It is passing through the identity via the body and is being given to others as it passes from one side to the next. There is an understanding, and there is knowledge, there is a way of relating to ourselves which can be conveyed. Unless that conveyance is occurring on a wave of compassion, we are merely passing on information and we are not passing on the truth.”

My darlings, in order to understand the truth of these teachings, we must first identify our truth within.

These past few days, I’ve struggled as others have imposed a level of unspeakable judgment. I’ve listened as they’ve levied the burden of their criticism, and the complexity of their harsh words. I allowed myself to be pulled into the sway of personal opinion. In doing so, I lost the center point of my own inner truth.

Though, today I am reminded in reading through your messages: that we are not defined by our challenges, rather we are measured by our ability to rise above them.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bid was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

In peace, my dearest friends ~
