This Paradigm of Haste.

Years ago, when I first began my mindfulness practice I believed that happiness was something to be achieved – something, perhaps, separate from self.

I hadn’t yet realized the complexities of mind, nor the influence of self as it related to spirit. Neither did I understand the power of past shadows as they pertained to my present reality.

Each of us has an idea of happiness. We want to to qualify and label it; hold it within our hands. Some may even go so far as to believe happiness might be possessed, though – in reality, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Like a fine sand, it slips our grip – evasive to the haste of man.

As humans, we are inherently drawn to that which brings us joy. So much so, that we begin to identify with the characteristics of these circumstances — believing only certain conditions may precipitate our well-being.

Look around you, my loves. What do you see? In looking through this veil of perception, we see endless opportunities to engage this energy of happiness.

Likewise, we recognize the capacity to transform that which impedes its passage.

As Thich Nhat Hanh reminds, it is this clarity of vision which resolves the spirit.

A little something to consider, my loves…

In peace…

Namaste ❤️
