These Trappings of Mind.

It’s so easy to become distracted, my loves.

Within any given day, we are surrounded by a multitude of reasons; eager rustlings begging our attention. Our hearts crave stillness, yet the mind persists. And we are once again lost in this dissonance of day.

“Situations themselves begin to act as reminders,” shares Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. “They shake you, they slow you down, they warn you, or they may inspire you.”

And, it’s always our choice – now, isn’t it? How these moments are received? We may feel compelled by our circumstances; our faith restored. Or, we may become numb as our world crumbles into a fine, ashen dust.

So, which will it be? And, how shall we determine?

Certainly, our practice may inform this choice. With softened breath, the mind’s pace slows. With each exhale, our frenzied pattern of habit dissipates. Though, we may feel distressed – the heart always knows; particularly, when presented the opportunity to persevere.

In this way, all of life becomes an exercise in fearlessness. Through each challenge, we begin to realize – that we are only ‘trapped’ by these limitations of mind.

In peace, my loves ~
