This Blessing of Awareness.

One of the things I most appreciate about my mindfulness practices is that it draws attention to the energy of old habits.

Sitting in stillness, I can observe the minds pace quickening; I can feel the physicality of the change, and the body’s transformation to carry the weight of an external burden. Though, mindfulness helps introduce a pause – a moment to reengage the progression of our story.

Oh, and we all tell stories – now, don’t we? When presented the challenge of a stressful condition, our hearts turn immediately to the energy of emotion. I suppose, there’s an odd sense of comfort there – at least a confidence in knowing the familiar over the yet to be discovered.

Often we feel our emotions are too complex for mark or measure, so we avoid that necessary contemplation.
Though, in reality, isn’t it the thoughts behind that lend to such confusion?

Mindfulness affords the capacity to rest within our awareness; to appreciate the ease of letting go over the angst of creating story.

“If, then, I were asked for the most important advice I could give, that which I considered to be the most useful to the men of our century,” writes Leo Tolstoy “I should simply say: in the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you.”

Today, my darlings – I wish you peace, and the blessing of newfound awareness.

Namaste ❤️
